Lucha Supervising Attorney Michelle Ortiz is presenting at a series of webinars designed to educate various communities on how Comprehensive Immigration Reform can reduce abuse and exploitation for immigrant women. Sponsored by Detention Watch Network, the July webinar was directed to the faith-based community.


Gideon at 50:  A Look at Public Defense In America

Executive Director Cheryl Little was a panelist at the July Annual Conference of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials in Chicago. The conference theme was “Gideon at 50:  A Look at Public Defense In America.” She shared her expertise on the serious consequences for immigrants of arrests for minor criminal violations, such as traffic violations.
